Around Iphofen in Franconia, Andi Weigand works almost 10 hectares of old vines together with family, friends and helpers – on rare Keuper soil. This ancient stone gives his wines herbal spice, freshness and a clear minerality.
Message in a Bottle: Andi Weigand
Old vines, living soils, true handwork – that’s his foundation. The grapes are picked by hand and gently pressed. His wines ferment spontaneously – no filtration needed. They mature in amphorae and oak barrels, often for months on the full lees. That takes time, patience and a lot of feeling.
